Add New Project Type

Add New Project

After selecting Add New Project, the Select Project Type screen displays. This screen allows you to select Add New Project or Copy Existing Project/Bookset. The Enter Project Name text box is where the project (and final bookset) name is decided.

New Project names should be distinctive and unique that explain:

• general supported function, and
• release or version number (if necessary)

Examples of previous project (and final bookset) names:

• Experion PKS R201
• Experion PKS R201 Spec PDF
• Web Gus 320

ATTENTION Project/Bookset and book names (within a bookset), should be unique.

Prerequisites

• You have installed Knowledge Builder version 4.3 or later on a computer running Windows.
• You are logged onto the Knowledge Builder Client computer with Administrator privileges.
• You have launched Knowledge Builder Developer, and selected Add New Project

Considerations

• You are familiar with interacting with dialog boxes on a computer running Windows.
• You have defined your bookset strategy that considers:
• A bookset with a unique name for the bookset you are creating
• The files (books with unique names) that will be included in bookset

The following procedure is used to select the Select Project Type to Add and Add New Project:

1	Click the Add New Project option button.
2	Type an appropriate unique project name in the Enter Project Name text box.
3	Click the Continue button to proceed to the next screen. Back button - returns you to previous screen Cancel button - cancels the project selection function and close the Knowledge Builder Developer application.
4	This completes the procedure. Go to the next applicable function section in this document.

Copy Existing Project/Bookset

After selecting Add New Project, the Select Project Type screen displays. This screen allows you to select Add New Project or Copy Existing Project/Bookset.

REFERENCE Copy Existing Project/Bookset option allows the user to only copy previously user-created projects or booksets. Experion PKS release booksets are not available for copying in the Knowledge Builder Developer since this utility allows modification of booksets. The Knowledge Builder Backup/Restore utility allows Experion PKS booksets to be exported (and thus copied) for deployment to another location.
